1. The Benefits of 大活络丹: Revitalizing Qi and Blood Flow

大活络丹 (or Da Huo Luo Dan) is known for its ability to promote circulation and relieve pain.

Its primary benefits include:

  • Unblocking meridians and promoting circulation (通络活血)

  • Relieving joint pain and numbness (消线痛痒)

  • Strengthening tendons and bones (健结子骨)

  • Warming the body and dispelling cold dampness (温精散寒)

During the Qing Dynasty 清朝 , physician 叶天士 (Ye Tianshi) reportedly used 大活络丹 to treat a military officer suffering from chronic cold-damp stagnation and severe joint pain. Through consistent use, the officer regained mobility, solidifying the formula’s reputation as a powerful treatment for musculoskeletal ailments.

However, in 1993, Singapore banned the sale of 大活络丹 due to the inclusion of 虎骨 (tiger bone), which is prohibited under international wildlife protection laws. The restriction was enforced as part of Singapore’s commitment to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
