OUR GRANDFATHER STORY

OUR FOUNDER - YEO KENG NUAN

Ping Min Medical Hall was founded by Mr Yeo Keng Nuan who had migrated to Singapore from Hainan, China.

The origins of Ping Min Medical Hall finds itself at 71 Smith Street. Where Mr Yeo rallied a group of experienced practitioners to start a business selling Traditional Chinese Medicine to common folks (平民百姓).

The early days of the business were rough. Customers were few and business partners wanted to leave. Mr Yeo was then left to fend for himself, but with grit he kept the business operating as per usual.

OUR NEW STORE - 4 SAGO LANE

Business started taking off when Mr Yeo was able to provide reliable source of medicine to students who were studying TCM and many Chinese and Taiwanese sailor men.

Many products passed through the doors of Ping Min to be given a stamp of autheticity. Establishing a name for itself as a trustworthy wholesaler & distributor.

With 71 Smith Street up for redevelopment, Ping Min Medical Hall moved to Block 4 Sago Lane #01-123. During the move Mr Yeo's wife took this opportunity to introduce herbal dispensary & consultation services to the business.

RISE OF A GENERATION

The early 2000s was an eventful time for Ping Min as SARs came to the shores of Singapore.
SARs caused the demand and price for herbs which could cure the disease to skyrocket. Yet Mr Yeo stayed true to the name of the shop 平民 (which means common people). He insisted that prices remain reasonable and affordable for the common folk.

Today, Ping Min Medical Hall has set foot upon Block 4 Sago Lane and it is completely managed by Mr Yeo's children.
